Description

This work is born from a profound reflection on the transmission of life, shared vulnerability, and generational resistance. Through the depiction of the giraffe and its calf, I seek to capture how the fragility of our most majestic species faces the inexorable pressure of the contemporary world. It is a tribute to wild tenderness and family resilience, textured upon the canvas under the original concept Wildfade:

  • The invasion of the gestural brushstroke: A large chromatic trail invades the space, enveloping and pressing against the figures. This fluid brushstroke is not ornamental; it is the visual representation of human intervention—an external force that alters the ecosystem and tightens the bond between mother and calf, turning their existence into an act of pure resistance.
  • Fracture and disintegration: The giraffe’s neck physically breaks, fragmenting into patches that float in space, while the top of its head vanishes into a cloud of wild splatters. This moment of disintegration symbolizes progressive loss: the real danger of wildlife slowly turning into a faint memory escaping right before our eyes.
  • The pulse of the inner light: From within the open wounds on the giraffes’ skin and chest, a deep, golden light emerges. This is not a symbol of weakness, but the sacred pulse of life and resilience insisting on beating strongly, reminding us that when a species goes extinct, the entire world grows a little darker.
  • The anatomy of the gesture: A direct dialogue between the emotional realism of the gazes and the absolute freedom of the abstract stroke. The animal is built with a deeply painterly brushstroke where the matter is evident up close, asking the viewer to connect with the honesty of the parent-child bond as the greatest treasure that must be protected.

A piece that confronts external chaos with the serenity of a caress, forcing us not to look away from what is truly essential: saving the light of nature before it fades away forever.
